Gulabi Jaipur, Craft Restaurant is a design Showcased by Jithin Shibu,Megha Sarah Georty students of Diploma in Interior Design at Academy of design and Management under the guidance of JD Institute Of Fashion Technology Cochin, for JD Design Awards 2023.
Megha and Jithin both studied Architecture and Town Planning as part of their Civil Engineering curriculum. When the possibility to design came up, they discussed the grid system and researched Jaipur. Sawai Jai Singh designed this amazing grid system for the city of Jaipur, making it one of the most well-planned towns since the Harappan Civilization. Sawai Jai Singh, even in the 17th century, had an amazing vision as a city planner. The ideas of Vastu Shastra and Shilpa Shastra guided Jaipur’s planning, which aimed to create a harmonious interaction between the city and nature. Sawai Jai Singh enlisted the help of skilled architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya to help him realize this goal. Inspired by this rich history and paying respect to Sawai Jai Singh’s legacy, they decided to use this grid structure for the Craft- Restaurant. hoping to instill a feeling of order, balance, and connectedness to the environment in their establishment by using the same grid structure. This smart approach not only pays homage to Jaipur’s innovative planning, but also produces a tranquil and visually beautiful ambiance within their Craft-Restaurant.
