COOPLOOM – CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION

The handloom initiative COOPLOOM seeks to benefit all parties involved by revitalizing, rehabilitating, and commercializing Kerala’s handloom co-operative sector. The newest development in the cooperative sector is COOPLOOM, which offers the finest Kerala handlooms to customers who place a premium on sustainability, quality, and durability. The cooperative movement gave the weavers fair trade before the term “fair trade” became popular. Weavers are able to receive a respectable wage, perks like health insurance and guaranteed income protection, and uniform weaving patterns and incentives for productivity. The cooperative movement’s extraordinary labor resulted in the implementation of all of these initiatives.

Increasing awareness of Kerala’s rich handloom tradition, maintaining the sustainability of the weaving industry, exploring new raw materials for handlooms, and closing any gaps in the marketing of handlooms are among the goals of the COOPLOOM initiative.
