LAGOM – Sync – JD Design Awards 2022
For the JD Design Awards 2022, designer Shafeetha P B, Aisha Liya researched a collection that was inspired by women from rural households who balance their daily lives by doing jobs outside their comfort zone while neglecting their own health and keeping their families needs in front of them and earning their daily bread.
The collection ‘Lagom’ which means just the right amount, it’s a way of life that seeks to achieve balance at every turn and point in daily life. Lagom is the key to a way of living based on social consciousness, restraint, and sustainability, and the set of elegant party wear sarees which depicts different lives of women.
Designers have beautifully depicted their inspiration through art form on the saree, bringing more elegance where they have taken white shade saree contrasted with bright coloured blouses which are experimented with different patterns in sleeves like balloon sleeve, bell sleeve, off shoulder with ruffles and pleats and the prints used on the saree were very subtle with the tints of violet and as embellishments tassels of violet tints were used.
JD Design Awards is an annual design event. Its previous editions were known as the JD Annual Design Awards, and featured themes such as Undo (2020), Curator (2019), Change (2018), Future Origins (2017), Untold Stories (2016), and Pure (2015). It is a magnificent platform that channels the designers’ talent and brings them face to face with the world. JDDA provides an opportunity for those with a creative bent to pursue their passion and make a name for themselves through their unrivaled work.
The collection Lagom was chosen as the Jury choice for the JD Design Awards 2022.
