SERAPH – Sync – JD Design Awards 2022

For the JD Design Awards 2022, designer Ann Mary David Raj researched a collection that was inspired from Archangels of the holy Bible from both the New and Old Testaments. Each Archangel represents and protects each element of our universe. Air, Water, Earth and Fire. And the other two Angels, one is a fallen angel who protects us from outside the universe and the other one is a messenger of the god. The collection has an elegant royal look which also represents the elegance of the angelic beings.

The four elements have been infused into Mens wear collection in the form of colors, fabric types, design details, and therapeutic properties connected with each element. Embracing the four elements of Air, Water, Earth, and Fire into a fashion collection creates balance and is a form of elemental alchemy.

The designer used various collars such as contrast lapel, peak lapel, notch lapel, and shawl lapel with the implementation of two different collars in one blazer and the use of more earthy colors and embellishments such as golden and silver buttons for the blazers.

JD Design Awards is an annual design event. Its previous editions were known as the JD Annual Design Awards, and featured themes such as Undo (2020), Curator (2019), Change (2018), Future Origins (2017), Untold Stories (2016), and Pure (2015). It is a magnificent platform that channels the designers’ talent and brings them face to face with the world. JDDA provides an opportunity for those with a creative bent to pursue their passion and make a name for themselves through their unrivaled work.
