Art Movements : A Talk by Shri. Bose Krishnamachari
On August 17, 2022, Academy Of Design & Management (ADM) under the guidance and management of JD Institute Of Fashion Technology Cochin were delighted to welcome Shri Bose Krishnamachari, an internationally renowned artist and curator known for his bold abstract paintings, figurative drawings, and multimedia installations.
Shri, Bose Krishnamachari, founder member and President of the Kochi Biennale Foundation, and Biennale Director of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale of Contemporary Art, has proven to be a revolutionary, albeit of a different kind. Like his namesake, his basic mantra is simple: involve the general public in any endeavor. He was also awarded the Kerala Lalita Kala Akademi in 1985, the British Council travel award in 1993, and the India Pavilion First runner up for the Bose Pacia Prize for Modern Art, New York, 2001 2000 Charles Wallace India Trust 1996 Mid-America Arts Alliance Award for Travel and Residency in the US.
Shri Bose Krishnamachari led an interactive session in which he discussed various art movements such as minimalism, surrealism, and expressionism. He also discussed how he established the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. It has become India’s gateway to contemporary art, particularly installation art, with only four editions since its inception in 2012. His paintings have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world. In addition, he actively curates exhibitions and projects of fellow artists throughout India.
Students from ADM, under the guidance of JD Institute, created portraits of Shri.Bose Krishnamachari and presented them to him as a mark of respect.
