Hindusthan International Fair-2022 | Fair Visit For Interior Design Students
On September 24, 2022, Academy Of Design & Management (ADM) under the guidance and management of JD Institute Of Fashion Technology Cochin organized a visit to the Hindustan Furniture Fair (HIFF), at Codissia Complex, Coimbatore, for the students of the interiors department, under the supervision of Ms Akhila Reneesh – Center manager of ADM and Ms. Christeena James -Faculty for Interiors Department.
Hindustan Furniture Fair (HIFF) is the ideal platform for learning about and exploring new trends in the global furniture industry, as well as for creating and establishing new business relationships. The fair provides an opportunity for furniture manufacturers to display their wares. Over the last two years, over 650 exhibitors from all over India have taken advantage of the opportunity and come to exhibit a wide range of their products. HIFF also serves as a marketplace for all raw materials, cutting-edge equipment, machinery, and technology used in the furniture manufacturing supply chain.
An Interior Designer is in charge of identifying and specifying colors, furniture, and other materials to create functional and aesthetically pleasing interiors. As a result of this visit, students from various batches with academic modules such as fundamentals of design for diploma students, fundamentals of design & construction materials, construction & detailing, Auto cad for BSc students, and Design studies & material sourcing, CAD for MSc students gained extensive knowledge about the application of materials, finishes, and fixtures. They also discussed various types of furniture and decorative items, such as leather and fabrics, wood coating, mattresses, veneers, and panels.
The visit was also intended to demonstrate how technology in the modern world has become competitive, as well as the various types of furnishing and decorative items available in the market that make one’s life easier while providing a modern touch.
ADM believes in organizing such practical oriented exposure for a better learning experience under the guidance of JD Institute Kochi, which has been in the field for decades. The HIFF visit was a successful out-of-classroom learning experience that allowed students to interact with entrepreneurs, consultants, decision makers, and trade delegations while learning about their products.
