Kochi Muziris Biennale – An Art Exposure for ADM Students
Students of Academy of Design and Management Cochin under the guidance of JD Institute of Fashion Technology Cochin attended the 5th edition of Kochi Muziris Biennale, which was held at Darbar Hall on Monday, January 23rd, 2023. where the students gained an understanding of the importance of exposure to art in developing their design visualization and thinking abilities.
The Kochi Muziris Biennale is an event that takes place every two years between December and April and features a variety of creative art activities such as programmes, events, student workshops, and exhibitions. Children’s art, discussion series, master practice studios, video labs, residency exhibitions, and artist cinema are among the programmes listed under Programs.
The students had the opportunity to engage in the remarkable conceptual artwork IDAM: WHERE BEING SPROUTS INTO LANGUAGE. Project plans include exploring contemporary art in Kerala from the perspectives of three curators who are also artists: Gigi Scaria, Jalaja PS, and Radha Gomaty. From within their own country, each of them has chosen 30 artists. At the inauguration of the exhibition, the curators were recognised for their exceptional work by Biennale Foundation President Bose Krishnamachari, Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Chairperson Murali Cheeroth, and Biennale Foundation Secretary Balamuralikrishnan.
The fact that there have been so many visual artists using such a diverse spectrum of complicated visual languages pleased our students , who saw it as more of an inspiration that could be infused into the industry in many ways. Students from the ADM cochin under the JD Institute Cochin discovered at the end of their visit that the exhibition was merely a tiny thimble full of the many different kinds of creative skill that existed, this show is limited to a single dedicated venue, the elegant period building of the Durbar Hall Art Gallery, to house the works of a tentative estimate of about 10 artists per curator.

As a result, we assist our students in pursuing their passions through our perfectly designed curriculum.
