Manish Malhotra’s Glamour of the 1980s – IAA World Congress 2019, Kochi
Every other year, the International Advertising Association (IAA) hosts a marketing and communication event. Marketing, advertising, communications, and other relevant topics will be covered at the event. The 44th IAA was held at the Grand Hyatt-Lulu Convention Centre in Kochi from February 20th to 22nd, 2019. Dignitaries from many walks of life attended the ceremony. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and CEO of Reliance Industries; Andre Agassi, former tennis great; Chris Tung, Chief Marketing Officer of Alibaba Group; Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Spiritual Guru; Amitabh Bachchan, actor, and others were among the distinguished panel of speakers.
The three-day convention was packed with entertainment for the delegates and speakers in attendance. Manish Malhotra, one of India’s best designers and a favourite of Bollywood’s and high society’s elite, coordinated a fashion show named “Fashion and Flavour of India.” He showed off 80 pieces from the collection, all of which were inspired by the glitz and glam of the 1980s. JD Institute of Fashion Technology students in Kochi had the opportunity to meet and speak with the designer and his staff. The pupils were also given the opportunity to participate in the show as volunteers. There was a mix of women’s and men’s clothing in the collection.
Models walked down the runway in layered and textured ensembles for men’s apparel. Models sashayed down the catwalk in voluminous dresses, high slits, ruffles, and frills for the women’s wear. Mirror work, sequin embroidery, and 3D decorations were used in the designs. The glimmer and gleam just added to the romance of the evening. Lubna Adams, a former model and coordinator, choreographed the event.
