Republic Day Celebration at Academy of design and Management Cochin
The significance of Republic Day in India is immense. This is something that all Indians take great pleasure in and celebrate. in honor of this year’s 74th Republic Day celebration at the Academy of Design and Management Cochin under the guidance of the JD Institute of Fashion Technology Cochin . On January 25, 2023, a number of events took place in which our students, faculty, and staff members Participated, by adding vibrancy and creativity to the celebration. All the departments came together for this occasion, which sparked a lot of goodwill and innovative ideas.
Students had made a Large size India Map filling 28 states with different embroideries of India , different traditional prints & paintings as well as pinning the famous architectural buildings of different states . We could see the creativity of all departments united to get a beautiful piece of artwork by our students and our faculties and staff were cheering and supporting our students.
Multiple other events were planned for the students, including quizzes in which questions about India and its states were covered in detail. There were also songs, a calligraphy competition, and other games that the students, faculty, and staff participated in. The event concluded with our national anthem.
This activity not only provided entertainment but also a better understanding of the various traditional Indian embroideries, prints, and paintings from the desired states, including the embroideries Kashida, Kasuti, Chambarumal, mirror work, Aari, Banjara, Zardozi, and Toda, as well as the prints Ajrakh, Ikat,batik,bandhani, bagh, dabu,kalamkari, and lehariya. Students in the fashion department at the Academy of design and management Cochin under the guidance of Jd institute of fashion technology in Cochin are taught about the history of textiles through modules Under Textile Aspect .
